Job Description

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - (FULL TIME/PART TIME).

Sun Valley Specialty Healthcare, Inc. / Totally Kids is a sub-acute facility and outpatient rehabilitation center that provides pediatric speech, occupational, and physical therapies for children from 0-21 years old. We are looking for a part- time or full- time experienced, compassionate, energetic, and fun-loving occupational therapist to join our collaborative interdisciplinary team of therapists. Desirable candidates must have a strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work well as part of a team, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Occupational Therapist Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 

• Caseload includes children and young adults aged 0 to 21 years in long-term care and outpatient settings.
• Performs evaluations, sets appropriate goals, and prepares for discharges to provide quality occupational therapy to clients.
• Supervises and supports COTAs according to state guidelines.
• Completes professional documentation including evaluations, progress reports, daily notes.
• Participates in multidisciplinary plan-of-care documentation and care conferences as requested.
• Builds and maintains rapport with family members and provides caregiver education as needed.
• Communicates and collaborates with other team members about occupational therapy services.
• Enters appropriate billing for client services into an electronic medical system.
• Develops, writes, and instructs clients and families in therapy home programs.
• Assists in orientation and training of other staff members.
• Assists in projects related to development of clinical programs and/or accomplishment of department goals.

Qualifications:

• Current CA and national OT licensure and certification, in good standing.
• New grads welcome to apply.
• Experience with pediatric population is highly preferred, but not required.
• Ability to meet deadlines; detailed and task-oriented.
• Experience with feeding and dysphagia is a plus, but not required.
• Comfort participating as part of an interdisciplinary medical team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Benefits: 

• $38- 45/ hour
• Full Time: 30-40 hours per week
• Part Time: 20-30 hours per week
• Work- life balance: flexible schedule to make up hours on a weekly basis; hours may be split 4- to 10-hour days
• Reasonable productivity standard.

• Paid full rate for BLS/CPR and Fire certification renewals.

• Sign on bonus of $1000 over the first year, with $250 being paid out at the end each quarter.
